Movie Dealer Tour

Title: High Ambitions

Fade in:

INT. APARTMENT - DAY

We meet JAY and MIKE, two best friends in their early 20s, sitting on a couch surrounded by weed paraphernalia.

JAY:

(passing a joint to MIKE)

Bro, we should totally go into the rap game. We got the talent and the street cred.

MIKE:

(taking a hit)

I don’t know man, I’ve been thinking about it. But how are we gonna get started?

JAY:

(grinning)

We’ll start by being drug dealers. We’ll sell weed and cocaine, make some money and then invest it in our rap career.

MIKE:

(excited)

That’s brilliant! We’ll be like the next big thing.

They both laugh and high five.

CUT TO:

INT. PARKING LOT - DAY

Jay and Mike meet with a drug dealer, SLIM, who gives them a bag of weed and a bag of cocaine.

SLIM:

(nodding at the bags)

This should get you started. But remember, never do your own supply. You gotta save that money.

JAY:

(winking)

Don’t worry, we’ll be smart about it.

Slim leaves and Jay and Mike high-five again, excited about their new venture.

CUT TO:

INT. APARTMENT - DAY

Jay and Mike are counting their money, grinning from ear to ear.

MIKE:

We’re making some serious cash, man.

JAY:

And our rap career is gonna take off. We’ll be living the life, bro.

MIKE:

(toasting with a glass of champagne)

To the top!

CUT TO:

INT. RECORD LABEL OFFICE - DAY

Jay and Mike are sitting in front of a record label executive, MR. SMITH, playing their demo.

MR. SMITH:

(rubbing his chin)

Your music is good, but I’m not sure about your image. You guys look like straight-up drug dealers.

JAY:

(smiling)

That’s because we are.

MR. SMITH:

(shocked)

What?

MIKE:

(proudly)

We’re making money selling weed and cocaine. And we want to use that money to invest in our rap career.

MR. SMITH:

(shaking his head)

I can’t support that kind of lifestyle. It’s not what the music industry is about.

Jay and Mike are disappointed and dejected.

CUT TO:

INT. APARTMENT - DAY

Jay and Mike are sitting on the couch, surrounded by empty bags of weed and cocaine.

MIKE:

(defeated)

We lost everything, man. Our money, our dreams.

JAY:

(sighing)

Maybe we were too high to think straight. We should’ve listened to Slim and not done our own supply.

MIKE:

(looking at Jay)

But we can start over. We can do it the right way this time.

JAY:

(nodding)

Yeah, we still have each other, right?

They both smile and fist bump.

CUT TO:

INT. RECORD LABEL OFFICE - DAY

Jay and Mike are back at the record label office, looking more presentable and professional. Mr. Smith listens to their new demo and is impressed.

MR. SMITH:

This is a different vibe. I like it.

JAY:

(smiling)

We’re clean now, Mr. Smith. We’re ready to make it big in the rap game.

MR. SMITH:

(nodding)

I can see that. Welcome to the music industry, boys.

Jay and Mike hug each other, grinning from ear to ear.

FADE OUT.
